Easter

For Easter this year, we celebrated on saturaday at the grandparents' place as my brother and his family were leaving France on Sunday the 16 April. It was also the occasion for the french family to meet Tim's baby.

On 16 April, the boys went egg hunting at Maison Elsa Triolet-Aragon. Each year, this place organised egg hunting and a concert for children. Each year we missed it as we would be having lunch at the grandparents'.

This time round, we attended the event. Each kid had to search for 5 eggs. Depending on the age group, the kids had to pick different colored eggs. For my boys, they had to look for white eggs. The egg hunt started at 2pm. We arrived at 3.30pm and had a hard time looking for eggs. It seemed that the kids before us had found all the eggs.

At 4.30pm, we attended the concert and the boys were happy to find 2 of their classmates and tennis friend and karate friend among the audience.

After the concert, the boys went looking for eggs again in the huge park with their friends.

When the event ended at 6pm, we were still a few eggs short. Still, the boys managed to exchange their white plastic eggs for a Milka chocolate and some small chocolate eggs.

It was a lovely event. Just need to make sure if we come back next year, we arrive not too late. A neighbour told me this morning that arriving at the start of the event was no fun because the eggs could be found easily.

Easter weekend

For this Easter, the boys were three times lucky. They went egg hunting at the neighbour's place on Saturday, at the grandparents' place on Sunday and at my friend's place on Monday.
Here, they were hunting eggs with 5 other friends. I am glad that 3 mothers whose kids are in the same class as A1 have become my close friends. We tend to organise activities togather for our kids.
The kids each received a 250gram of Kinder Surprise. That was huge.

On Sunday, it was at the grandparents' place for eggs hunting. They were becoming expert.
As usual, the loot was shared equally among the four cousins. I bought a cake for the dessert as it was so pretty with the Easter theme.

On Monday, we had a singaporean ladies gathering. The bunch of French-Singapore kids had fun looking for chocolate eggs. A1 being the expert found a huge Kinder Surprise. I had a good time catching up with the ladies. It was not easy to find a date where most of us could make it.

With so much Kinder chocolate, I actually made a cake out of one of them. The boys liked it. It had almost been a month since Easter. We still have a basket of chocolate. Time to make another Kinder chocolate cake soon.

Happy Easter Sunday

It's Easter Sunday today. It is funny to watch my two boys looking for eggs while the older cousins watched and helped. The cousins were the one who hid the eggs. Only a few years back, it was the adults hiding the eggs for the children. Kids do grow up fast.

We were blessed with lovely weather. The sky was blue.
Among the chocolate eggs were a few beautifully crafted chocolates. Of course, they were table center pieces and not hidden for the boys to find. Such a delight to the eyes that I do not bare to eat it.

There were about a hundred chocolates in total. As usual, the harvest was shared among the four boys. Here is the basket full of chocolates for A1 and A2. To be taken with moderation, of course.

Egg hunting

On Easter monday, we went to the kids' grandparents for lunch. It was a tradition for the kids to hunt for chocolate eggs during Easter. It was the first time that A2 hunt and pick eggs by himself. He went 'Wow' each time he found some eggs.
The older cousins helped the boys to point out the hiding places. I could tell that the boys had fun.
In the end, all the eggs were divided equally among the four grandchildren.
This was the collect the two boys brought home. There were also bigger chocolates. Now, the boys asked for chocolates non-stop. I hid the basket and rationed an egg or two for them each day. Like my neighbour suggested, maybe these chocolates would end up as mousse au chocolat.

Egg Hunt

Easter was Baby A's first egg hunt at his grandparents'. As Baby A was not walking yet, it was his dad who carried him around. And as Baby A had no idea what to look for, it was his dad searching for the eggs.
There was a tricky one perched high up and even Baby A's cousins did not see it. So of course, it was picked up by Baby A's helper, his dad.

The kids were told that they had to divide their loots equally even if one found more than the others. Baby A had his share and since he was not eating chocolate, we gave some back to his cousins. I still had a basket of them in my living room.

Baby A however did chew off a little of the red aluminium package of a chocolate egg. We had to force it out and he was very upset by it. Granny appeased him by giving him just a tiny little bit of chocolate. Let's see if next year, our boy can hunt the eggs on his own and eat them in moderation.

Easter and prawn mee

It was Easter. Usually, we would spend the long weekend (monday is a holiday) at Seb's parents place watching our nephews searching for eggs in the garden. This year however, we just spent our weekend at home.

Since baby is due in 3 weeks time, I decided to cook prawn mee. Conforming to the confinement practise, I can't eat prawns after giving birth for at least a month. And I love prawns. This was the first time I made prawn noodles. I used the Prima Taste package and found the soup to be too sweet for my taste. I doubt I will cook this again. I prefer the Prima mee-siam.

After dinner, I was craving for chocolate. Once said, my neighbour knocked on our door and gave us an easter egg. It was lovely. Seb and I did not wait long to break up this lovely rooster egg.

I wish everyone a happy easter.
